Location: Nashville, TN-based, but able to travel across Tennessee.

Description: Nobody Trashes Tennessee (NTT) is a litter-prevention campaign growing quickly throughout the volunteer state. In its second year, the campaign is launching a new youth outreach program for middle school students. We are looking for candidates to be a large mascot who will be the face of the NTT youth campaign.

The NTT mascot is tall, (over 6-foot) enthusiastic, and loves Tennessee. The mascot does not speak with words, but must be physically animated. The mascot costume is a custom-built, full-bodied costume with limited visibility. The mascot never travels alone, but will be accompanied by a group of 2-4 “Tri-Star Rangers”—adults who will be by the mascot’s side at all youth outreach events. Outreach events occur both in middle schools and at community locations, such as movie theaters.

This performance opportunity consists of a 4-day pilot program in the Nashville area (within 1 hour drive) on March 6th – 9th 2018 (four days). A longer 7-10 day tour is tentatively planned for May 2018. Please see below for all required dates.

Expect to:

  • •Be enthusiastic about the Nobody Trashes Tennessee campaign, Tennessee’s culture, and litter prevention throughout the state
  • •Be high-energy, a great mascot must always be posed or moving in some way, never standing straight up
  • •Be sweaty, the costume will be hot
  • •Act professionally and deliver information to middle school students, families, and the general public
  • •Light load-in of equipment for events (not in costume)
  • •Get breaks every 45-60 minutes

Outreach Events include:

  • •Visiting 3-6 middle school classrooms per day (with help from the Tri-Star Rangers)
  • •Running 1-2 middle school gym class activations (with help from the Tri-Star Rangers)
  • •Being the star of a photo booth in local movie theaters for a 4-6 hour photo shoot

Pay Rate: Depending on your experience, this position ranges from $150/day-$225/day
